    by Mike
    Posted September 3rd, 2009 at 5:41 am
RIM's little BlackBerry device has enjoyed an explosion in popularity the last 1-2 years thanks to aggressive model refreshes and marketing campaigns. Their push is paying off as the ever popular consumer market is literally eating up these plastic wrapped Berries like none other. A new force has joined club Berry and with their story, can and probably will inspire others like them to adapt a Berry thumb. That force in question is the Baltimore Police Department. The fine young and women...

The wait for a 3G BlackBerry on T-Mobile USA has been a long, long, long road. Watching carrier after carrier steal all of the good speedy devices can certainly become discrouraging after many cold shoulders. However, TMO USA users caught a second wind when it was announced that an upcoming version of the Onyx, the BlackBerry 9700 would be coming to T-Mobile -- with 3G no less! Building upon those previous known tidbits, a claimed reliable source to TMO news is reporting that the TMO 3G tot...

Social butterflies and CrackBerry addicts will no doubt be pleased to know that Facebook 1.7 for BlackBerry is very soon coming to a Berry new you. As far as actual features go, there isn't much to talk about as it is still shrouded in secrecy deep inside some concrete building. However, the bigger picture is the fact that it's 5.0 compatibile which means BlackBerry OS 5.0 has to be getting close if applications are starting to get the 5.0 treatment. Right? Stay tuned... • Updated BlackBerry Tour (renamed “Essex”) to get WiFi and optical trackpad?
    by Mike
    Posted August 31st, 2009 at 1:12 pm
For now, take your rumor folder and gently place this one in there to foster and grow. If you thought the BlackBerry Tour was hot stuff now, wait until early 2010 when a lightly updated model is supposed to appear. Along with a new name, "Essex", this new 9630 will get WiFi much like the updated Storm 2 as well as that optical trackpad that is surprising many good 'ol physical button lovers everywhere. For now, this is all rumor without any pictures or internal leaked documents to back it u...
  • OS 5.0 leaked for Bold, Tour, and 8900
    by Mike
    Posted August 26th, 2009 at 6:41 am
While Bold users may still be recouping from the excitement the latest AT&T; update brought them, the more daredevilish users may be over and done with that already as they've likely had that firmware version for weeks now. While AT&T; is still messing around with oh so old 4.6 Bold firmware, the real action is in the 5.0 scene. Some brave developer or insider with special access to pre-release BlackBerry OS builds was kind enough to open the door and let loose versions of the 5.0 software for...

Many BlackBerry users, especially the geek and tinkers in the world love the ability to fully customize their BlackBerries with custom themes, wallpapers, and sounds. Building on that addiciton, the BlackBerry 9700 that is slated for release in just a few short weeks is no doubt the most lusted BlackBerry to date. One particular feature that many Berry users are clamoring for currently are copies of the wallpapers (shown on commercials) that are included in the new OS that ships wi...

  • BlackBerry Bold 9020/Onyx/now 9700 gets official Bold branding
    by Mike
    Posted August 10th, 2009 at 11:07 am
The confusion and alphabet/numerical soup that has so far graced the BlackBerry Bold 9020 9700 can be laid to rest. Pictures of the new Blackberry Onyx leaked with the "Bold" branding have surfaced giving Crack addicts something more solid to gravitate towards. So far the Onyx has gone through a bevy of physical changes on it's track to becoming the 9700 including a trackball-to-track pad change, the whole issue revolving around the 9020/9700 numbering (I realize this isn't physical), a batt...
  • MobileMe online mail browser support growing? Chrome now in the mix.
    by Mike
    Posted August 6th, 2009 at 7:04 am
While this may not be anything entirely new, and it's quite possible that I somehow missed an official announcement somewhere at some point, the old requirement of Mobile Me's online web portal, having to use either IE, FF, or Safari, seems to finally be expanding. While those three browsers are a few of the most popular, they are by no means the only browsers in the world. I was however pleasantly surprised roughly 30 seconds ago when I went to check my Mobile Me mail forgetting I was using...

    Posted July 29th, 2009 at 11:31 am
CrackBerry addicts, the hunt for the next Berry is heating up. The absolute latest in the BlackBerry front comes in the form of the BlackBerry 9700. So far there isn't any cute code name to call it by. Instead all we have is the "9700" moniker and a few specs which are as follows: 480×360 resolution display Quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE UMTS/HSDPA Wi-Fi a,b,g/Bluetooth 3.2 megapixel AF camera QWERTY keyboard OS 5.0 One thing that bugs me is the lack of any mention of a touchscreen. I kn...
  • Push Gmail comes to iPhone via “GPush”
    by Mike
    Posted July 7th, 2009 at 5:45 am
Mobile Me, Exchange, and Yahoo email users have enjoyed push email on the iPhone for some time now. Oddly enough, Google and Apple apparently haven't had the time or drive to strike a deal to bring the same functionality to the platform meaning a lot of gmail/iPhone users are getting twitchy. Once again, a 3rd party has come to the rescue to save us. Introducing "GPush", the push solution for Gmail on iPhone. The app is really quite simple and straight forward. You open the app, enter you...
  • Enhanced Gmail plugin being fabricated by RIM
    by Mike
    Posted July 6th, 2009 at 9:43 am
While the BlackBerry email handling is bar none, one of the easier and most simplistic methods to retrieve email on the go, it leaves much to be desired. Gmail users in particular have been clamoring for better gmail management for some time. It appears if their cries for help are not going unheard. A thread over at BlackberryForum(de) details the leaked goodness of an enhanced Gmail plugin coming to BlackBerry soon. Supposedly, the plugin will add Gmail specific functions to your CrackBer...
