  • Unlock landscape email on Palm Pre via secret code
    by Mike
    Posted July 2nd, 2009 at 8:52 am
Why Palm neglected to add a landscape keyboard throughout when they have watched Apple get chastised relentlessly over the last two years for the very same thing is beyond me. But, have no fear, average joes, you can take your destiny into your own hands. Those of you worrying about jailbreaking, hacking, or any other involved methods that are more often than not frowned upon can throw those worries out the window. All that is needed to access the landscape keyboard in the email application...

  • iPhone Gmail web portal gets new swipe features
    by Mike
    Posted June 24th, 2009 at 5:36 am
For some time now, Gmail users have requested an official Gmail app that would allow them to do so much more with their gmail than the stock or online Gmail portal. The reason for the MIA app is unknown, (feel free to speculate your own stories now), however, it seems that users will get something rather sweet that should lessen the regressions felt. Google has updated the Gmail web portal to include swiping features similar to the swiping done in native apps. Remember, this is all d...

  • Gmail “Magic Inbox” to make email organization easier/less painful?
    by Mike
    Posted May 21st, 2009 at 2:08 pm
If you work in an office, have many clients, or are just a popular person, chances are you get bombarded with emails. Now, add on top of that the countless number of spam and junk emails you receive each day and the list of emails to go through, sort, and organize becomes a tedious and monumentous time consuming task. Don't you wish there was a more automated way to organize you email that was easy, unintrusive, automatic, and reliable? If so, Google may be working on something to answer th...
  • Google announces labels for Gmail on web app (iPhone/Android)
    by Mike
    Posted May 20th, 2009 at 7:11 am
Google has a reach in the tech world that is growing daily. For some, they fear privacy concerns, for others, they can't get enough of Google and their products and services. For those of you addicted to Gmail and its labels feature, I am proud to announce that you can now take that on the road. Google has revealed that they are now supporting "labels" (by way of many different colors) for iPhone and Android users who use gmail through the web app. So if you are a Gmail junky, now organizi...
  • Gmail knows all…even when you’re sleeping
    by Mike
    Posted April 9th, 2009 at 7:38 am
I'm sure some "privacy advocates" will sleep a tad more unsoundly knowing that Gmail now has the ability to know whether you are awake or asleep.  Don't worry, it isn't because of some crazy chip implant or camera network but is merely based on the time zone the sender and recipient reside in.  As you can see in the picture above, persons in red are more than likely preaching to their pillows while the individuals in green should at least have their eyelids open.  While not earth shatteri...
  • Oh snap. 97%+ of email is unwanted SPAM!
    by Mike
    Posted April 8th, 2009 at 12:56 pm
I'm sure this isn't news to much of you out there, and even less to those who have multiple email accounts and spend twenty or more minutes deleting spam email, but a recent Microsoft security report revealed that over 97% of email is unwanted, spam email!  97%!  That is insane.  I knew the number was high, but not that high.  There have been attempts to outlaw spam which have so far proven unsuccessful.  However, a bill introduced that is currently making its way through the mazes and...
  • Android + Exchange + Push = Happy corporate customers
    by Mike
    Posted February 13th, 2009 at 4:49 pm
Until now, Google's Android operating system has lacked a full Miscrosoft Exchange client with push.  That streak is now coming to an end as Moxier has released a beta version of their up and coming Microsoft Exchange client for Android.  One little extra feature that is sure to make many people happy is the fact that it supports "push" email syncing! +1.  Said software will play nice with Exchange '03 and '07, with 'o7 coming with the added support of HTML email.  If you're a corporate ...
  • 8350i rears its head!
    by Mike
    Posted November 25th, 2008 at 5:18 pm
Yes Nextel fans, your day is coming.  The 8350i from RIM is making its way to the public soon.  One of Boygenius' ninjas snuck some pics of the upcoming berry.  As you can see it has more of a "rugged" design.  I personally think it looks pretty cool.  However reports of completely horrible signal are circulating, which, given the Nextel's network doesn't surprise me.  At least Nextel berry lovers have something.   source: Boygenius...
  • Is the “Peek” really worth it?
    by Mike
    Posted September 10th, 2008 at 9:40 pm
[caption id="attachment_64" align="aligncenter" width="199" caption="Peter Svensson, AP Technology Writer"][/caption]   The "Peek" is a self proclaimed "back to basics" email device.  It lacks features such as a calendar, address book, browser, and basically...everything.  All it does is email, like good 'ol blackberries used to do.  The makers of the Peek shun the "feature bloat" that many smartphones have today.  They take the approach of "less is more" the extreme less side. ...
