Quantum Computing Just Took One Step Closer to Reality. #quantumcomputing #gadgets

  • December 17, 2010 7:16 am

We may all drool over the latest and greatest PC hardware as it trickles onto the web, but quite honestly, it’s the same story year after year. More transistors, more cores, more efficiency combined with more processing power. The real excitement however, will come when scientists finally unlock quantum computing for the masses. The potential of such technology has far reaching and incredibly powerful potential. And thanks to the help of several intelligent physicists at the University of Utah, we are now one step closer to such technology…

Solar panels of the future to be sprayed on.

When people talk of vast solar farms in 2010, the common image that penetrates our minds is that of a massive piece of land housing thousands, if not tens of thousands of individual solar panels. It’s certainly a site to behold. Even much smaller scale farms look immense when a birds eye view is taken. But a new technology will drastically cut down how big a solar panel is and how it’s made. Not only that, it will change what solar panels are… (Hint: Spray on tan)…

Nalu 3D computer the staple image of “computer of the future”?

What comes to mind when you think of “computer of the future”? Is it some tiny super computer strapped around your arm? What about a super computer implanted in your brain? Or perhaps, the computer of the future is a bit more “normal” looking, as is the case with the Nalu 3D computer.

With a curved OLED display, the futuristic look is certainly there. Now if only this prototype computer can progress further, eventually coming to market, we’d have a winner. With the power that’s being crammed into tiny smartphone bosdies these days, a laptop-sized computer such as the Nalu 3D is certainly within the realm of possibility.
