  • AT&T releases voicemail-to-text feature for customers at $9.99/month. Overshoots relevancy by $8.99.

For the longest time, voicemail was one of those that remained stagnant in the digital sphere. It was a simple service that was left behind as people of all flavors moved to more text based communications. Who had time for sifting through voicemails anymore? Then came visual voicemail. A revolution of epic proportions. Instead of being forced to listen to each message individually, now you could pick and choose what and when you checked your old time messages. And finally, voice-to-text/tr...
  • Consumer Reports reveals results to Best Carrier Service survey — AT&T gets the caboose.

Surprised? Ya, no one is surprised. AT&T; finishing last in call quality is a given. To be fair, none of the big four carriers: Verizon, Sprint, T-Mobile, or AT&T; ranked above 75. Even still, more written evidence of AT&T;'s saturated and broken network is disappointing. But the real disheartening thing is AT&T;'s misguided response: We appreciate and value all customer feedback. We learn from it and it helps us serve our customers better. Without question the surest indication of custome...
  • LG and T-Mobile to bring the Android heat in 2010 and beyond?
    by Mike

Don't you love a classic rumor fresh from the mill? I know I do. I generally don't like to get people too excited if there is little case for such emotion, but I'm sure T-Mobile customers and Android lovers won't mind. LG hasn't really had much of an impact here in the states as they have in other countries, say their home turf back in Seoul. Even then, just because you're the favored incumbent doesn't mean it's a set and done deal. Telling signs of a cooling period for LG hardware can bee...
  • AT&T hates the truth, democracy, and their customers. Communist flag waves high and proud.

Anyone with even the smallest smidgen of knowledge into the tech realm knows how corrupt AT&T; is. They lie, falsely advertise, and contort the truth for their own benefit. Such accusations and characteristics aren't much different from most American businesses but the lengths at which AT&T; goes as well as their blatant and obvious hypocrisy is downright shameful and disgusting. Without further procrastination, I bring you AT&T;: The consumer hating, money driven, lets kill everything that even...

You know, after all the flack that AT&T; has gotten for boasting of a POS network and Apple for stubbornly sticking with them for the last 2-1/2 years, you have to admire AT&T;'s determination. Almost. AT&T;'s Luke Wilson ads that have making been getting some pretty frequent air time on TV go to prove how terrible is at making commercials in their defense. They're pretty much just as terrible as the Microsoft/Seinfeld duo. However, when AT&T; simply can't go on to put together a decent commerci...
  • T-Mobile USA looking for a new bunkmate?
    by Mike
    Posted November 20th, 2009 at 1:18 pm
Coming last place can get old after awhile. Perhaps that's what's fueling T-Mobile's motivations to actively search for a new U.S. partner if reports from Reuters are to be believed. Currently ranked 4th out of the "Big 4" US cellular providers (Verizon Wireless, AT&T;, Sprint, & T-Mobile), T-Mobile has for some time now been trying to recoup lost ground and push itself ahead of it's rivals. Part of pushing ahead is expanding the carriers rather weak coverage nationally speaking. Such adventu...
  • And the war rages on: AT&T releases commercial bashing VZW network…

First off, if you skipped the commercial above, go back and watch it. Ok, watched it? Great. Grand. Good. So let's just pick this apart shall we? Nation's Fastest 3G network: Debatable. You have to be able to get a signal first. And even then, many large cities with pristine signal quality suffer from grossly overtaxed networks. Winner: Draw Talk and surf at the same time: Correct. AT&T; does hold a big advantage over VZW's network by allowing users to talk and use data at the same ...
  • T-Mo UK selling user data like cheap narcotic…

Some people sell crafts. Some people sell services. Some people sell drugs while other people sell user data...waaait...what? Chances are your user data has been sold to the highest bidder -- if you're a T-Mobile UK user. While we'd like to believe carriers have our best interests in mind, we are always getting reminded such isn't the case. Apparently some jerky T-Mo UK employees took it upon themselves to provide "millions of records" concerning "thousands of users" to third party "phone f...
  • Verizon’s latest response to AT&T lawsuit claims: Stuff it. You suck.

Anyone thinking that either AT&T; or Verizon were going to roll over and let the other walk all over them in the courtroom has another thing coming. Neither side is backing down anytime soon as both have come forward with fightin' words. We all know that AT&T;'s latest claims has them bragging how "awesome" their EDGE network is when the "rare" extremely common occurrence of 3G-less AT&T; coverage presents itself. Verizon on the other hand comes out swinging pretty hard saying: AT&T; did not ...

If you're in the Market for an Android device, you've got quite the selection this holiday season. But if you're a bleeding edge nerd who wants the top of the line, you really only have a couple choices. Sprint's HTC Hero or Samsung Moment and Verizon's Droid Eris or DROID Droid are really the top models for the time being. But another option is coming quick in the form of the Samsung Behold II. This new device from Samsung will be the first Android device to feature Samsung's "TouchWiz" cus...

Wetting your pants in excitement that AT&T; is finally, finally getting on board with Android? Sorry to say that your little accident was for naught as AT&T; is still stiff arming Google's baby. Why? Well there's many reasons why. (1) They don't care about all of this "openness" crap. (2) Don't want to harm exclusive agreements with Apple. Or (3), they're just plain stupid. My vote's for three, but this entire issue is best reserved for another article. Don't go just yet. I wasn't lying...
  • T-Mobile USA Q3 results in. Red ink needed.
    by Mike
    Posted November 5th, 2009 at 12:36 pm
With T-Mobile's strong Android showing, coupled with Android's rapidly growing popularity would lean one to suspect that they were set for another bangin' quarter. That isn't quite the case. Q3 results are out and the numbers aren't too pretty with T-Mo dipping into the red ink for the first time in several quarters, coming up with a subscriber net loss of 77,000 subscribers (140,000 total). A far cry from the 325,000 subscriber increase in Q2 or the 670,000 subscribers gained in Q3 of last y...
