  • AT&T HQ releases friendly reminder reminding store employees how awesome they are [BS]

The Verizon "There's a map for that" ads have already garnered a couple posts here at Gadgetsteria not only from Verizon's side of things, but also from AT&T;'s as they seek one of their most frivolous lawsuits ever. Hiding under the guise that the ads are misleading is in short, stupid. Verizon edited the ads once with text that read "Network coverage available outside of 3G areas". How much more dumbed down do you need? Apparently if you're AT&T; you're going to need much, much more. So, wi...
  • AT&T getting all suey just because Verizon called out AT&T’s crap network…

Perhaps you've seen Verizon's clever ads recently being run on TV. They feature a rather humorous play on words and AT&T;/Apple's "There's an app for that" into their own "There's a map for that". Looking at the pictures above, we can see the obvious comparison is between AT&T;'s 3G network and Verizon's 3G network. It's also no surprise that VZW wins hands down with AT&T;'s 3G suckiness falling way, way behind. Apparently AT&T; has a problem with getting called out and have brought on their tea...
  • Motorola Sholes coming to T-Mo USA?
    by Mike
    Posted November 2nd, 2009 at 12:55 pm
So Big Red is like a disease to you and you can't fathom moving to Euro-land just to purchase and *fully* use a Euro-spec Droid Milestone? No worries dear reader as a screenshot showing a reported "dev only" section of a MotoBLUR site shows something very interesting indeed. See that circled bit of info? It points to a TMO edition of the Motorola Sholes -> Droid. If a GSM version exists outside of the country, it isn't hard to believe a GSM version would come state side. On one had it wou...
  • O2 Germany getting the Motorola Droid Milestone.
    by Mike
    Posted November 1st, 2009 at 2:37 pm
Oh German readers, today is your day. Well, not literally in the sense you'll get any physical gratification, but you'll at least get hope for near future gratification. The Motorola Droid which is far and wide the most anticipated Android phone to date is mere days from a U.S. release. Lucky for Android fans across the pond in Deutschland, they too will soon be experiencing what this Android hype is all about as internal O2 documents showing a rebranded Motorola Droid as the "Milestone" have...

I'll give you a minute to come down off of your certain gadget fueled high before I break some not so happy news.... .... ... .. . Ok, now that, that is out of your system Ill get on with it. The GSM HTC Hero w/ AT&T; specific 3G bands is coming to our continent. The bad part? It's going to our friends up north on Telus. Damn! Those lucky Canadians. Eh, it's not all bad. The biggest part of the battle -- getting the right operating frequencies -- is half over. Now you'll just need t...
  • AT&T “suggests” bloggers/tech community buy into their BS
    by Mike
    Posted October 29th, 2009 at 5:13 am
Not content with paying off government and coating them with lies, it appears AT&T; has moved on to us bloggers and the tech community as their next target. Only problem is, we have a brain and are capable of seeing past their PR nonsense. Everyone knows AT&T;'s network blows epic amounts of private parts. From the north to the south to the east and to the west, the experience is the same. Their network is riddled with holes, over-taxed towers, and even the possibility of an improperly configu...
  • Tmo 9700 decides to stay home a few more days. Not showing up until November 16th party.

Products release dates getting pushed back are never fun at all. Starting with a sentence like that, you know that something now so smile inducing is following. Word is that the much lusted after T-Mobile BlackBerry 9700 decided to hold of it's coming out party until November 16th. You know T-Mobile better watch out. Starting a string of delays isn't fun for anyone and this delay in particular is starting to remind me of the delay after delay style launch AT&T;'s Bold suffered from. We can o...
  • Light show coming to T-Mobile via Sony Equinox
    by Mike
    Posted October 26th, 2009 at 9:04 pm
While I generally try to avoid phones with overly gimmicky features or slogans, the Sony Equinox is rather neat little clamshell phone. Not a smartphone by any means, the Equinox sings a different tune. A tune of affordability and sophistication. Specs include a 2.2 inch QVGA internal display, GPS, Stereo Bluetooth, FM Radio, YouTube support, and a 3.2 mp shooter. Average sounding specs aside, the real marketing muscle behind this particular handset revolves around the way the external scree...
  • Motorola DROID is coming to AT&T [Update]
    by Mike
    Posted October 23rd, 2009 at 6:10 pm
**Update: Now that we've had a few weeks to ponder over everything Android and have seen that AT&T; is still completely silent on any Android support, how do you think the state of affairs concerning Android/AT&T; are? Still feeling sad, neglected, and overall lost in life after a brief bit of happiness on news of a GSM Droid floating through the FCC only to find out it's a Euro-model? Time to whip up that excitement again as another Motorola Sholes device has slipped through the digital gat...
  • 850MHz 3G now blanketing Baltimore!
    by Mike
    Posted October 23rd, 2009 at 8:35 am
Baltimore inhabitants: Get ready to see another bar, drop 5 calls instead of 50, and enjoy overall better coverage. AT&T; has just finished upgrading your fine city 850MHz 3G coverage meaning network performance should become more reliable and better performing. We shall see. So far, forum posts on various AT&T; based forums have shown mixed results if any. Would a vocal Baltimorians care to chip on their experience so far? PhoneScoop...
  • T-Mobile lights up 3G in more cities

Today's list-o-3G releases via T-Mobile is one of the shorter lists so far consisting of two lonely cities. Bellingham, WA Norwalk, CT *sinister voice*: Speed. Pure, blinding speed... Androinica > @TMobile_USA ...
  • AT&T Wireless CEO hints what we’ve known all along: iPhone exclusivity coming to an end.
    by Mike
    Posted October 22nd, 2009 at 2:42 pm
Don't come here looking for an exact date relating to the day the iPhone is set free or a new U.S. carrier you can look forward to switching to as I don't have that information. What I do have however is mounting evidence that AT&T;'s iPhone reign is nearing the final curtain via reports from the companies freshly released earnings reports and via CEO Ralph de la Vega himself. Mind you, nothing blatant was said. But the tone of his announcement can only mean good things for us: We have a le...
