If you haven't checked out Waze yet, you don't know what you're missing. The simple "find all of the state license plates on your cross country trip" now pales in comparison to the scope and cool factor that Waze offers. What started as a simple social GPS app that allowed end users to upload road conditions among other things has grown into a GPS game of sorts -- enticing users to discover new paths to their destinations in order to collect the hidden presents on the map for the chance to win...

Want to see a real modern genius in action? Guitar Hero may be on the back side of the popularity mountain, but one thing is for sure -- Ric Turner, former Disney Imagineer, is a genius. The reason for his ingeniousness is for his creation, "Christmas Light Hero". Obviously based off of Guitar Hero, Ric recorded a perfect run of Eric Johnson's "Cliffs of Dover" for the base video material. The 21,268 lights and LEDs display the recorded video on the garage door while the audio is actual gam...

Skis are so 1970's. Snowboards are out too. What in this day and age is cool for the slopes and won't leave you looking like a lost and aging poser? The North Legion SMX Snow Bike. While those around you will still be slippin' and slidin' around on traditional old school snow travel methods, you can wow spectators and garner gawkers from all around with your snow bike. Essentially a custom bike frame attached to 3 skis, the Snow Bike makes traveling the vast snow covered hills and mountain...

'Tis the season to go all out, make a spectacle of yourself, and just have a good time. With the dropping temperatures, falling snow, and coming Christmas season, it's time to bust out the traditional Christmas epic: "Christmas Vacation". In my mind, there's simply nothing funnier. Hopefully most of you have seen Christmas Vacation and will instantly know what I'm talking about when I reference "the house". More specifically, his -- the one with 10 million christmas lights. The world today ...

  • Celebrate this Christmas with a bang: The Hand Grenade Ornament.
    by Mike
    Posted October 15th, 2009 at 6:40 am
Fond memories of Grandma's cookies, the sweet smell of gingerbread cookies, and the overall mood that falls over the Christmas season brings many adults back to a simpler, younger time in their lives. Some may want to keep the memories as they are, only reliving them with their new families as they grow older. Though some will be tired of the same and instead seek out change. Perhaps you're the type that remembers all of the jollies of the cold winter months when a whiff of ever so sweet gun ...
  • Going to Taste of Chicago
    by Mike
    Posted July 2nd, 2009 at 3:14 pm
While blogging and gadgets are my passion and consume much of my life everyday, there is always time to sit back, take a little R&R; and have some fun. And that is exactly what I am doing starting tomorrow. I'll be headed to Chicago for some R&R; at the Taste of Chicago. If you haven't been before I suggest trying it out at least once -- tons of food, things to see, places to go. I will be back Sunday to continue delivering the news that keeps geeks going. Mike...

    by Mike
    Posted December 22nd, 2008 at 6:22 pm
According to Gizmodo, even the internet behemoth Google can't escape the troubled times in the current economy.  Because of that, they have eliminated Christmas bonuses this year.  Google being the people loving carefriendly corporation that they are didn't cut their employees off completely cold turkey though.  They are being rewarded with "special" G1's with a little android design on the back.  One other nice detail is that their "special" G1's are all unlocked.  Good luck using the 3g ...
