  • Lenovo Skylight delay to result in processor swap, dual-core 1.5GHz Snapdragon en route?

Delays are rarely a good thing the gadget world. More often than not, as release dates are pushed farther and farther back, interest in the gadget/service wanes and ultimately kills it. In the case of the unusually stylish Lenovo Skylight and its Qualcomm 1GHz processor, "delay" killed it for a lot of people. But a new rumor surfacing on DigiTimes sheds new hope on Lenovo's baby. Specifically, the unfortunate delay has resulted in Lenovo having time to swap out new internals such as the much...
  • Looking for mobile 3G/4G laptops? Lenovo has you covered.

AT&T; and Verizon may be bickering back and forth over Big Red's proposed 4G rollout slated for this year, but one carrier in particular would like to remind you that they already have 4G up in play now -- Sprint. Perhaps you don't want to browser the mobile web on a tiny 4" screen though. That's certainly understandable. For that, wireless cards for laptops save the day. There are various makes and models that even come with 3G built in so you don't have to deal with buying separate cards. ...
  • Green Dam Youth Escort software gets booted from last 3 stranglers

In what was one of the worst ideas yet in regards to censorship and "safety", the forced install of the Green Dam Youth Escort software that was mandated to be installed on every PC in China has been dealt another and potentially fatal blow. The last three major manufacturers whom also started shipping or installing the software from the factory are now backing down as well. Lenovo no longer installs the software from the factory, though, they will provide an install CD if asked. Acer annou...
  • “Pocket Yoga”…Lenovo’s revolutionary “netbook”?

Complimenting the shots found online last week of the "Pocket Yoga" by Lenovo, an as of yet unannoucned product, more photos have crept their way onto Flickr showing what appears to be a touchscreen "laptop" with an insanely wide screen ratio.  How practical will it be for scrolling vertically for long documents?  Who knows, but it sure does look cool!  Nothing else is currently known about this mystery device from Lenovo.  Come inside for a few more pictures of the Pocket Yoga posing fo...
  • Survery says: Lenovo IdeaCentre 600 is…”Mediocre”

A few days ago i posted about Lenovo's IdeaCentre 600. Gizmodo has been able to spend some hands on time with it.  His take on it?  It sucked.  Ok, maybe he wasn't that harsh, but he definitely wasn't impressed either.  One of his biggest gripes was the wireless do-it-all remote was no where near as nice as the  Wii's and even the Wii's isn't the smoothest device ever either.  It really says a lot for the IC 600.  Using the remote as an air mouse wasn't quite as bad, but it still suff...
  • 3 New notebooks from Lenovo

    Posted January 5th, 2009 at 12:16 pm
On top of the all-in-one computer I mentioned earlier, Lenovo is releasing 3 new Y series notebooks.  Designed around HD multimedia, the 14" Y450, 15" Y550, and 16" Y650 will all have 16:9 glossy displays and Nvidia GFX graphics to showcase movies in widescreen format and to allow colors to pop off the screen all without breaking a sweat.  A multi-touch trackpad, up to 500GB hard drive, and up to 4GB of DDR3 RAM round out a rather appealing set of notebooks.  The design of the notebooks ...
  • Lenovo IdeaCentre 600: An iMac from the Imperial side?
    by Mike
    Posted January 5th, 2009 at 10:17 am
At first glance the Lenovo IdeaCentre 600 looks (in my opinion) just about as good as a standard iMac.  It is sleek and shiny with a distinctive curve to the frame that gives it a sort of modern elegance.  Obviously, this is Lenovo's response to other contenders in the all-in-one market such as Apple's iMac, Sony's Vaio LV , and Dell XPS One.  The looks of the IdeaCentre immediately grab you, unfortunately, if you're looking to use this as a complete replacement for a computer and Hi-Def...
