Xbox 360 Auto Disc Changer Ruins Any Chance Of Exercise I Might Get.

  • July 12, 2011 1:47 am

Do you remember CDs? I doubt it, but if you do, you’ll probably even remember a device that would hold all your CDs and let you listen to them as you please - without ever having to swap out the round archaic things. Ben Heck decided that instead of recycling that piece of equipment, he’d put it to some good use. Heck has created an Xbox 360 disc changer. Yes, you heard it right. The gift that will be atop every mans Holiday wishlist! While taking your every day run of the mill 360 DVD drive, Heck was able to plop it inside an extremely transformed (Autobots or Decepticons?) Sony CD changer.

Please, someone purchase this and send it to me for review, or just send it to me. I want and need this. I don’t trust me kids to swap out my CoD: Black Ops disc with my Halo:Reach DVD. I barely trust them getting me beers while I play. If I had this in my house, I would never have to leave the couch, well, except when I have to clean the windows and the inside of the microwave at the Gadgetsteria headquarters :(

A Radical video awaits you after the break…

PS3 Laptop Features 720p Display, Fully Water-Cooled Internals FTW!

  • May 30, 2011 8:40 am

Have $1,000 burning a hole in your pocket and the urge to game on your PS3 just about anywhere? You’re in luck because the latest PS3 laptop mod is now up on eBay, with the seller claiming portions of the sale will go back towards earthquake relief in Japan and tornado relief in Joplin, Missouri.

The good ‘ol 40 GB fat has been dissected and squeezed into a custom case measuring a scant 13-inch-long by 16.5-inch-wide by 2.5-inch-thick. Add to that built-in controls (keyboard) as well as 4-USB ports, speakers with volume controls, 2.5mm headphone jack, slot-loading Blu-ray drive, and 720p display and you’ve got quite the portable gaming machine. With that said, this particular PS3 mod lacks a built-in battery meaning you’ll ultimately need a friendly outlet or beefy battery back to game on the go. Finally, a new 500 GB hard drive and fully water-cooled internals add to the already impressive spec list. Pretty awesome if you ask us.

Forget the White iPhone. This See-thru Case Is Cooler.

  • January 20, 2011 1:04 pm

The white iPhone may still be the unicorn phone of Apple’s lineup, but somehow this see-thru design on sale at is much more lust worthy. Granted, Apple didn’t design the iPhone to look pretty without its clothes on, nor did they take into account light bleeding through to the back of the device sans stock case. But I can look past those small hiccups if the price is right. Gallery of naked iPhones after the jump…

Commodore 64 Reborn: Dual Core Atom Processor and Nvidia Graphics. Amiga and Phoenix Making a Return too! #commodore

  • December 18, 2010 8:28 am

The return of the Commodore has been a long time in the making. But finally — Finally! — it is making its way back into our hearts and homes. The Commdore 64 you see above you is the same garish beige and tan plastic case of the original, though the insides are much more potent. This cheetah in hippos clothing packs a dual-core 525 Atom processor and Nvidia Ion2 graphics making it exponentially more powerful than the gentle giant of years past. For now, beige/tan is your only color choice. Though, other color choices are planned for release in the near future.

Commodore 64 not your cup of retro tea? Never fear. The owner of the Commodore 64 trademark has some more plans up their sleeves. Apparently there will also be some Amiga and Phoenix re-boots as well. Finally, a “high-end” Commodore is planned, giving us a look at a piece of hardware that the once great company may have produced and shipped had things not turned out they way they did.

A retro fun fest.

Impress Your Friends and Coffee Cups: The Han Solo Coffee Table

  • November 15, 2010 10:34 am

You could be like every other normal, un-interesting home owner and put some bland plank of wood in your living room, boring your guests and coffee cups alike. Or, you could make use of this awesome Han Solo Coffee Table designed and built by England-based design studio R9…

[Update] Hackers Volley Back Into Sony’s Court: PS3 Jailbroken Once Again. #ps3 #jailbreak

  • November 15, 2010 7:26 am

Much the same as we see Apple go back and forth with jailbreakers, Sony is finding out just how hard it is to stay one step ahead of the game. Some would argue that it’s impossible because Sony is on the defensive. As such, they’ll never be able to pull ahead. Regardless of what you believe concerning the matter, the PS3 has been cracked open once again. PS Jailbreak is reporting that the latest tool can now safely crack PS3 firmware versions 3.42 and 3.5. They also toss in an “and beyond” tag that will almost certainly be removed once the jailbreak is patched on the next update. That is, unless they have managed to find a way to permenantly jailbreak the PS3 much like iPhone hackers claim to have found an un-patchable hardware exploit.

I usually say “nothing is impossible”. Though common sense says that this new PS3 Jailbreak will also be patched. But in this one case, it would be oh so sweet if the hackers actually “won”.

This update will only allow you to downgrade to previous cracked firmwares, NOT give you the ability to play 3.42 or 3.50 games. Hey, it’s a start.

The 25mph Modded Segway of Death. #segway

  • November 12, 2010 7:13 pm

In life there are mods, and then there are mods. This tweaked Segway with significantly larger wheels plays on basic physics push to the device’s top speed up to 25mph. That doesn’t sound like a lot to a society used to 70mph+. But when you’re on a top-heavy, two-wheeled machine that uses nothing more than a few gyroscopes and electric motors to keep you from faceplanting into the pavement, it’s considerably more dangerous.

You know you want to hop inside and check it out…

My Little Pony, My Little Pony, May all your days be bright (or welded together) *sung like the theme song*

  • November 11, 2010 8:04 pm

No that isn’t a screen grab from the newest Saw movie, it is probably one of the coolest modifications I have ever seen. Short and sweet. Someone has taken a My Little Pony and swapped out it’s magical insides with a soldering iron. I always wanted laser beams to shoot out of their Unicorn tips, but this is way cooler. I’d look tough sitting in my garage all manly soldering things while holding a My Little Pony!

Sapphire Releases “Trixx”, GPU Overclocking Tool for PC Enthusiasts.

  • November 4, 2010 8:04 am

Custom PC builders and fans of computer overclocking now have another tool to add to their collection. Popular computer hardware manufacturer, Sapphire, has released a new GPU overclocking tool called “Trixx”. Essentially, it does the same thing as several other tools provided GPU manufacturers — allows you to adjust frequency clocks and voltages on your graphics cards, as well as letting your tweak fan settings. The latter is a huge help, especially when high overclocks are concerned. Heat = bad.

As you can see from the image above, the limits rise quite considerably from ATI’s own 1,000MHz-limited overdrive tool. Granted, not every card is going to run at 1,300MHz as outline by one of the images inside. Nevertheless, the option to run free with your hardware is always nice.
