Miniature qwerty keyboards have been popping up more and more recently across mobile devices of all types in a move by manufacturers to cater to the growing trend of texters, mobile emailers, and social butterflies. The military often treads a very different path. While their technology and gadgets are still top of the line and current, the gadgets themselves when based off of consumer electronics are often a few generations behind the curve. It seems the military is finally coming into the...

    Posted July 10th, 2009 at 9:35 am
BlackBerry fanatics who were impatiently waiting for images of the ever so popular BlackBerry Onyx 9020 need to sit down, grab their inhalers and get ready. The Onyx has finally been spied without any covers, bearing to all the nice little optical trackpad nestled right smack dab front and center awaiting your poking and prodding fingers. Is it a prototype or early production unit? Can't say at the moment. All I can say is how soon can we get this?! It is definitely a sexy looking Berry ...
  • VZW grows a brain cell…now allowing current users to pre-order BlackBerry Tour
    by Mike
    Posted July 2nd, 2009 at 2:17 pm
The last few days if you mentioned the words, Verizon, current user, and pre-order BlackBerry Tour, you may have wittnessed a small example of what standing next to a nuclear explosion was like. Verizon's early decision to lock out current customers from being able to pre-order what is easily the best CDMA BlackBerry to date was downright ludicrous. Thankfully cooler heads have prevailed and the consumer has once again won another battle thanks to the power of voices in numbers. So, I leave...
  • For those of you who think that just because you’re near the top…you’re the best
    by Mike

I just got done reading one of, if not the best articles ever written in regards to a company that is losing sight. Boy Genius an avid BlackBerry user has voiced what so many BlackBerry users feel everyday -- that their beloved CrackBerry is awesome in the hardware department. However, the software department is a joke, a downright failure. Now the OS is more than capable...three years ago. Putting it up against your Mobile OS X and Android shows just how behind RIM is in software terms. ...

    by Mike
    Posted July 1st, 2009 at 7:24 am
While Apple my deny emulators from their iJesus, Palm has so far stayed relatively quiet on this front. Leave it to the faithful developer community to get the real job done right the first time. For those of you who have switched over to a Palm Pre and are aching for a Playstation emulator can take chill pill and relax. One is coming. Thanks fo ZodTTD, a seasoned iPhone emulator veteran, the Palm Pre can now enjoy the glories of Playstation emulation. He even goes as far to say that the ...
  • BlackBerry 8520 swoops through FCC
    by Mike
    Posted June 30th, 2009 at 3:14 pm
While BlackBerry world tends to be filled of tales featuring the latest Berries brimming to the top with gooey feature goodness, some people enjoy the slower pace of life. All of the increasing demands these new features place on the oh so taxed lithium battery within all of them isn't worth it to them. For those people, the BlackBerry 8520 is their Berry. Since it just passed through the FCC, a release is farely close, (read: by August is likely). Since AT&T; has focused more and more on 3...

  • Nokia announces E72, E71 now old and busted
    by Mike
    Posted June 15th, 2009 at 6:41 am
While Nokia may have the majority of the world's cellphone users buying their phones, I would much rather consider the quality of said units instead of quantity as the majority of Nokia phones sold are laughable at their absolute best.  Those who have a taste for the finer things in life and gadgets will take pleasure in Nokia's latest high end gem, the E72.  In order to one up the now not so new E71, Nokia upped the megapixel count to 5, threw in a 3.5mm headset jack instead of the still-...
  • Alphabet soup maker venturing into world of cellphones - ITG xpPhone

    Posted May 29th, 2009 at 1:11 pm
With XP quickly gaining in age as it's desktop successor, Windows 7 is now drawing ever closer meaning more adventurous uses of XP can be sought out. Mobile ventures perhaps? One of the perks of being an older tried and true operating system is that most of the quirks have been worked out and the OS optimized to its fullest. Moving forward with XP, what is the next stage now that Windows 7 will start to take over? Smartphones of course. Brought to you by the makers of alphabet soup (not ...
  • 8350i rears its head!
    by Mike
    Posted November 25th, 2008 at 5:18 pm
Yes Nextel fans, your day is coming.  The 8350i from RIM is making its way to the public soon.  One of Boygenius' ninjas snuck some pics of the upcoming berry.  As you can see it has more of a "rugged" design.  I personally think it looks pretty cool.  However reports of completely horrible signal are circulating, which, given the Nextel's network doesn't surprise me.  At least Nextel berry lovers have something.   source: Boygenius...
  • Palm Treo Pro making its way to Sprint…just a little too late for the Holidays :(
    by Mike
    Posted November 20th, 2008 at 3:02 am
For all of you Treo loving, Sprint followers hoping to get your sweaty hands on Palms latest and greatest as a Christmas gift for yourself, you'll have to wait a tad longer.  Many hoped it would make its grand appearance before Christmas, unfortunately it isn't slated for release until January.  Pricing info is unknown at this time, but I will update as soon as Boygenius lets us all know, haha.  In Palms defense, it doesn't look half bad.  I will definitely head over to Sprint on the d...
  • Is the “Peek” really worth it?
    by Mike
    Posted September 10th, 2008 at 9:40 pm
[caption id="attachment_64" align="aligncenter" width="199" caption="Peter Svensson, AP Technology Writer"][/caption]   The "Peek" is a self proclaimed "back to basics" email device.  It lacks features such as a calendar, address book, browser, and basically...everything.  All it does is email, like good 'ol blackberries used to do.  The makers of the Peek shun the "feature bloat" that many smartphones have today.  They take the approach of "less is more" the extreme less side. ...
