Today marks one week and a day that the Motorola Droid has graced the masses. I was one of the many that were eagerly anticipating it's release bringing us the first tastes of Android 2.0 as well as the first Android slider device since the G1. While not perfect, it is truly a good device. I've had many smartphones over the last couple of years and have a fairly robust knowledge of the various platforms. Coming from BlackBerries and iPhones more recently, how does the Droid stack up after a ...

I remember the day that I read about the rumors of a touchscreen BlackBerry. I was sitting in Chicago O'Hare Airport waiting for a flight to Houston. At that time, scouring the specs on BGR's site left my jaw dropping and my heart racing. That was the pinnacle of my CrackBerry days. I have since moved on to many different platforms though my enthusiasm for the BlackBerry platform has never truly waned. All it will take is one breakthrough device (with better software of course) and my lusts...

With all of the publicity surrounding Apple, the iPhone, Google, and the rejection of the Google Voice app from the App Store, one can understand why other platforms such as Android and BlackBerry are tooting their horns happily crying out regarding their support for the Apple shunned service. Naturally, those who are trying to catch up to the success that has rained down on Apple and the iPhone (pretty much everyone), have begun talking up the fact that Google Voice will work flawlessly on t...

The year isn't over for Android folks. While the MyTouch 3G was already released and may have been the savior many had been waiting for, I along with many others are still waiting for something truly unique that captures our eye. Could it be that the often rumored I7500 in american form is quickly on it's way to the U.S.'s fourth largest carrier? A recent FCC document detailing the passing of a Samsung device packin' Android seems to suggest so, or at least we'd love to think that. Of cour...

Palm's saving grace in the states hinged on Pre launch day. The phone and the network, Sprint, both needed this wonder device to sell like no other Sprint/Palm device before it in order to give them a fighting chance in staying relevant. So far, the Pre has being doing pretty well meaning at least Sprint can breathe a sigh of relief. Palm however is not quite out of the woods yet. While the Pre is doing pretty hunky dorey over here in the States, elsewhere in the world this odd, third cous...
