  • Burglar has case of social networking withdrawl…forgets first rule of internet safety. [Stupid]

Think you've seen the dumbest, most mindless criminal-leaves-an-obvoius-trail-and-gets-caught story? Think again because apparently stupid people love to one up each other...and possibly follow each others attempts. The current #1 idiot criminal comes from Pennsylvania. It seems our criminal, couldn't go without checking his Facebook for mere minutes and found the need to check it...while burglarizing a house. As you can imagine, said criminal wasn't that smart and forgot to do one of the ...

For all of the die hard, Tweet-aholics out there, you've come across an intersection in space and time where you've wanted to contact another Twitter user...by phone. Of course you could get the person's number and then call them like normal. Or, you can simply start your tweet with @call. Direct calling from Twitter here we go. A web based company called JAJAH has just released a beta program called [email protected] which allows the beta users to call each other through Twitter. I know what yo...
  • HP DreamScreen: Picture frame crosses mobile internet device
    by Mike
    Posted September 17th, 2009 at 5:29 am
The digital touch is creeping into everything these days as is internet access it seems. A perfect example of this is the HP DreamScreen. A 10.2" or 13.3" picture frame that also connects to the internet to allow you to stream Pandora tunes, view Facebook, and more -- all from a picture frame. Prospects of said frames will be able to also enjoy snap fish integration and the ability to choose from over 10,000 different internet radio stations. The choices we face. Now, the technology i...
  • Off the record Obama tweet calling Kanye West a “jackass” gets yanked.
    by Mike
    Posted September 15th, 2009 at 7:02 am
In an off the record interview with CNBC, an ABC reporter, Terry Moran tweeted:"Pres. Obama just called Kanye West a “jackass” for his outburst at VMAs when Taylor Swift won. Now THAT’S presidential." The tweet was quickly deleted. However, Twitter caches all tweets and doesn't delete deleted tweets from said cache immediately. Now, many will look at the issue on the surface -- that is, that a tweet supposedly quoting the President of the United States was yanked probably due to decen...
  • Crime against humanity: “Spacebook” T-Shirt to never see the hairs of our chest..
    by Mike
    Posted September 15th, 2009 at 6:23 am
Today is a sad day indeed. While not all geeks have some weird fascination with space, Star Wars/Trek, and other non-earthly things, most everyone can surely can muster a smirk at the sight of the "Spacebook T-Shirt". Featuring a humerous pun on the popular social networking site, the Spacebook T-Shirt scratches the surface of the inner lives of Storm Troopers -- something that is a very rare sight to say the least. I can't believe that it took this long for someone to conjure up a t-shirt ...
  • Keychain Speaker ensures everyone gets a slice of sonic heaven

Earbuds are usually worn inside of your ear as to keep sound leakage to a minimum both saving your hearing and keeping the people around you a bit more jolly. Walking around the streets in life, as it happens quite often, one may be with a group of friends and want to share a song with them. This casual affair usually involves passing an earbud around to a bunch of people which can be a big pain. Besides, do you really know who you're swapping ear wax with? A far more elegant though probab...
  • Lose the fat: Facebook Lite emerges…
    by Mike
    Posted September 11th, 2009 at 5:47 am
Over the last couple years, Facebook has exploded in popularity surpassing the once great MySpace. The draw for many was the slick, quick, and uncluttered interface. Well, with the addition of every quiz, app, and game underneath the sun, Facebook is turning into the bloated giant MySpace still is. What to do? Cut the fat that's what. Since Facebook started adding all of the frilly junk, many users have been begging for a "Facebook Lite" that gives them the good 'ol Facebook free from dis...
  • Motorola Android event wrap up — Moto Cliq coming to T-Mo USA
    by Mike
    Posted September 10th, 2009 at 1:30 pm
The much anticipated Moto Cliq with Blur and it's U.S. Carrier friend, T-Mobile have one might cool device on their hands. While a more "professional" device still has me holding out on Android, the robust messaging and social networking integration is pretty tempting. Enough daydreaming, the Motorola Cliq will come to T-Mobile "before the holidays" with: 3.1" 320 x 480 pixel display Android 1.5 WCDMA 900/1700/2100, GSM 850/900/1800/1900, HSDPA 7.2 Mbps (Category 7/8), EDGE, GPRS Class 12...
  • Centrl for iPhone [Review]
    by Mike
    Posted September 10th, 2009 at 5:55 am
Since I don't live in a large city full of exciting stuff to do, social networking apps and those that are aware of your surroundings haven't really piqued my interest yet for the simple fact that there isn't really a shred of information or "goods" for my little town in northern Indiana. However, that hasn't stopped me from dipping my toe in the pool from time to time. Loopt is popular social networking application that aims to bring users who live near and far together, sharing places of int...
  • “Official” Android Facebook app live. Not developed by Facebook?
    by Mike
    Posted September 9th, 2009 at 5:38 am
The day social butterflies and ubergeeks have been waiting for has come. Facebook and Android are finally playing on the same court. Or are they? It's no secret that the two companies aren't exactly the greatest of friends -- they aren't exactly going to invite the other over for Sunday brunch. However, many hoped that they could at least quell their feelings of animosity towards one another to come together for a greater purpose: Android users and Facebook lovers. Other platforms such as t...
  • Popular iPhone location app “Loopt” to gain “background” support
    by Mike
    Posted September 4th, 2009 at 1:07 pm
Now, before you start running down the street naked and screaming at the top of your longs, you may want to slowly undue the buttons on your shirt as it is a tad more involved than the background support I'm sure you're thinking of. Traditional backgrounding apps on a device are just as they sound. Even after closing a certain app, the app continues on in the background updating, phoning home, pushing out information to 3rd parties. With the iPhone, unless you've jailbroken the device, as soo...

    Posted September 1st, 2009 at 11:19 am
Social butterflies and CrackBerry addicts will no doubt be pleased to know that Facebook 1.7 for BlackBerry is very soon coming to a Berry new you. As far as actual features go, there isn't much to talk about as it is still shrouded in secrecy deep inside some concrete building. However, the bigger picture is the fact that it's 5.0 compatibile which means BlackBerry OS 5.0 has to be getting close if applications are starting to get the 5.0 treatment. Right? Stay tuned...
