  • Google Phone’s on again/off again relationship with our souls…

For every site you find on the internet telling of a so called "Google Phone" -- the ultimate Android phone according to Google's own tastes -- one can find just as many if not more sites debunking such rumors with the most popular reasoning being that Google would hurt 3rd party partners. Because of this, we'll never see a Google Phone straight from Google. They don't make hardware. Or do they? Gizmodo received a hot tip that points even harder to Google releasing a slab of hardware on thei...
  • Best Droid case ever!

Ya, the fact that this is even funny is sad. When your typical smartphone case is getting contention from Mr. Sandwhich's humble abode you know 3rd party manufacturers need to step it up. Droid Forums...
  • F your smartphone. No really! [iPhone Art]
    by Mike
    Posted November 24th, 2009 at 1:54 pm
We could try all day to express our feelings of anger, disgust, and outright hate by "talking it out" or using other means. But why do all of that nonsense when a simple "fuck" is all that is really needed? Think you have it bad for that smartphone of yours? The owner of this iPhone obviously had some anger problems. It isn't so bad though. Instead of punching kittens and killing fish he decided to go the verbal route and use one of the most versatile and colorful words contained within the...
  • HTC HD2 going Pink…
    by Mike
    Posted November 23rd, 2009 at 5:27 am
Now before you think this "pink" reference is made to some popular womens lingerie store, I'll come ahead and crush your dreams -- it's not. Instead this is a bit more sinister. Much like the Droid is having issues with it's camera, it seems as if the HD2 (popular device this morning isn't it...?) has problems of it's own. While the Droid currently lacks the ability to focus because of a random, weird ass cycle because of a time stamp bug, the HD2 has a nasty case of the pink halo. This halo...
  • HTC HD2 to be graced with Windows Mobile 7
    by Mike
    Posted November 23rd, 2009 at 5:17 am
The HTC HD2 is currently the top dog of the WinMo world. It has a massive 4.3" screen which is gargantuan when compared to any other smartphone. Even considering the fact that it is hobbling along with WinMo 6.5 prettified with HTC's Sense UI, the HTC HD2 is a hot phone. Not to mention, the snappy 1GHz processor tucked away within is another reason to gloat over this fine piece of gadgetry. So it comes as no surprise that HTC made a statement announcing a Windows Mobile 7 upgrade for the HTC...
  • Motorola Motus specs revealed!
    by Mike
    Posted November 20th, 2009 at 10:58 am
The Motorola Motus, leaked in all of it's glory. We talked earlier about Motorola falling into a "Razr Rut" in regards to getting stuck on one design and beating it long past it's expiration date. With that said, the first interesting feature of the Motus is that it's not a "traditional slider" but instead features a unique flip open action. Excited? The rest of the specs... Quad-band: GSM/GPRS/EDGE -- Tri-band: 7.2Mbps HSDPA (850, 1900, 2100MHz) 3.1? capacitive 480×320 display Qualcom...
  • HTC HD 2 spied running Android!
    by Mike
    Posted November 17th, 2009 at 8:36 pm
Sweet, sweet action it is. No words can describe the awe I am experiencing. If rumors are correct, the Verizon bound HTC Passion/Dragon should resemble this at least a tad. Who wants four?! Of course, the angle at which it's facing and the overall sheen just looks slightly odd. Fake? God that would be a heart wrencher. But we all know an Android device of this size and shape is coming. Real or fake? Android Central Forums...
  • A week with the Droid
    by Mike
    Posted November 14th, 2009 at 10:19 am
Today marks one week and a day that the Motorola Droid has graced the masses. I was one of the many that were eagerly anticipating it's release bringing us the first tastes of Android 2.0 as well as the first Android slider device since the G1. While not perfect, it is truly a good device. I've had many smartphones over the last couple of years and have a fairly robust knowledge of the various platforms. Coming from BlackBerries and iPhones more recently, how does the Droid stack up after a ...
  • Prototype BlackBerry with touchscreen, slide-out qwerty, and webkit browser moved to prototype stage. Release in 2010?
    by Mike
    Posted November 13th, 2009 at 11:29 am
I remember the day that I read about the rumors of a touchscreen BlackBerry. I was sitting in Chicago O'Hare Airport waiting for a flight to Houston. At that time, scouring the specs on BGR's site left my jaw dropping and my heart racing. That was the pinnacle of my CrackBerry days. I have since moved on to many different platforms though my enthusiasm for the BlackBerry platform has never truly waned. All it will take is one breakthrough device (with better software of course) and my lusts...
  • Samsung Behold II costs $229?

    Posted November 13th, 2009 at 6:43 am
If you're in the Market for an Android device, you've got quite the selection this holiday season. But if you're a bleeding edge nerd who wants the top of the line, you really only have a couple choices. Sprint's HTC Hero or Samsung Moment and Verizon's Droid Eris or DROID Droid are really the top models for the time being. But another option is coming quick in the form of the Samsung Behold II. This new device from Samsung will be the first Android device to feature Samsung's "TouchWiz" cus...
  • At launch, Sony Xperia X10 will only support 65k colors. Android 1.6 to blame.
    by Mike
    Posted November 12th, 2009 at 4:29 pm
Oh the horror. Sony has been teasing us for days on end with Xperia 10 slideshows and videos of a UI that is simply gorgeous and now we come to find out that it's only capable of 65k colors. Before you get too upset and cancel your date with Rachel, you must know that this is a limitation with Android 1.6 that is scheduled to ship on the device at launch -- not the hardware itself. The OS simply can't make use of all the hardware stuffed under the X10's hood. There is hope. Android 2.0 ...
  • Palm Pixie and webOS 1.3.1 strut their stuff for the camera…
    by Mike
    Posted November 10th, 2009 at 9:11 pm
The Palm Pre isn't even that old yet and already we're looking at what can replace it. Can Palm's lower end device dubbed "Pixie" attract more followers with it's lower price point? It's a mixed bag for me. Sure it's cheaper, but I'd rather have the Pre's form factor. The Pixie just looks weird -- too long and cheaply made. Then again I'm one person. Give the vid above a look and see if the as of now unreleased Pixie and webOS 1.3.1 have anything hidden that could change your mind. En...
