It is on this magnificent day that RIM will officially release the OS 5.0 upgrade. For CrackBerry fanatics needing a more specific number, note this OS as 5.0.0.328. Besides some subtle UI tweaks here and there, users can expect to see thre...
  • Europeans soon to get increased 3G reception, better coverage.

Here in the states, AT&T; is hard at work upping network capacity by offloading their 3G network onto the 850MHz frequency band. The lower frequency means increased range and better penetration through obstructions. EU residents currently get 3G served up via the 2100MHz band -- quite a bit higher. Because of that, reception can often be hampered by what seems even the smallest obstructions. Redemption is in store however as the EU is moving on up...or more literally...down to actual useful...

Besides including the Sense UI, this updated ROM, version " 3.03.715.4", comes complete with Android 1.5 Cupcake. Not quite as exciting as 1.6 (Donut), though better than nothing at least. Snow Leopard's official release is almost here. While bigger tech sites and other important figures got to take Leopard for an early test drive, more normal and lesser people like mwah are anxiously waiting for tomorrow. One feature of Snow Leopard that has so far gone under the radar is that of virus protection. Several people have found pop ups warning them of potential virus in email attacments or web downloads. How exactly does it work and is it really that effective? According to...

    Posted August 27th, 2009 at 5:28 am
Apple's Snow Leopard OS launches tomorrow and comes into the world as one of their cheapest upgrades in a long time -- 8 years in fact. If you are contemplating upgrading for monetary reasons, current Leopard users can take advantage of the super attractive $30 price, while Tiger users will have to pony up an extra $130. (Though Walt Mossberg is claiming you can go from Tiger -> Snow Leopard w/o doing a splash and go with Leopard). Whether or not Mr. Mossberg is correct, one thing is for cer...

With all of the negative publicity AT&T; has been receiving the past few....months...there is a small glimmer of hope for the often knocked, rarely praised cellular giant. • Windows 7 upgrade chart is one big grouping of pain.
    by Mike
    Posted August 7th, 2009 at 5:40 am
If you are a company big or small and want to see how not to release a product (and support information), go no further than the Windows 7 upgrade chart. What should be a rather simple affair with a chart that is pretty well laid out and easy to read ends up looking like an eye raping ordeal. As one can see form the shot above, the upgrade path is rather hairy with just about any upgrade path you choose meaning you're going to have a lousy several hours the day you decide to do the upgrade/s...
  • As expected, Win7 upgrade not the greatest…

Those of you hoping for a rather seamless and smooth transition from Windows 7 RC to the full blown retail edition might come to find your fairytale world a little more gloomy than once thought. While Microsoft is being somewhat nice and giving us mortals the ability to "upgrade" from RC to the retail edition without first downgrading, after taking a deeper look one will notice it's not really an upgrade at all. For example, upon using a Windows 7 retail upgrade disc, all of your old data, f...

While the mood at WWDC after the sad and unfortunate news of AT&T dropping the ball twice in regards to iPhone OS 3.0 and the iPhone 3G S, what is surprising is the continuing public outcry over their crappy service.  While you and I know how sucky they really are, the fact that more and more people of the not so techie crowd are getting in on this anti-AT&T rhetoric is pretty astounding.  As the picture above shows, there are clearly some peeved people floating around the interweb...
