Mercedes To Launch Industry First Siri Integration In A-Class Cars.

Siri hasn’t quite yet caught the masses or made them believe she (or he if you live overseas) is really all that innovate. But Mercedes is singing a different tune. The car manufacturer is going to officially unveil the world’s first in-car system built around Siri at the Geneva Auto Show next month. The european car manufacturer teased their all-new “COMAND” interface and it’s iPhone 4S inspired design today, eluding to a big shift in the automotive world to in-car technology. The iPhone 4S/Siri integration will allow drivers to control their iPhone and operate Siri via Mercedes cars’ in-car microphones and speakers. Other features of the new COMAND interface outside of Siri include improvements to GPS/navigation software as well as social sharing options, again, all potentially powered by your voice.

Mercedes will launch their new technology in their A-class cars first, eventually pushing the tech out to their B, C, and E-class cars later in 2012.
