Nokia Chases After Marketshare With the Entry Level Lumia 610.

The Lumia 900/800 may have our hearts, but it is the Lumia 610 that will post big numbers (Nokia is hoping anyway). The entry-level Windows Phone 7 device features a single-core 800 MHz processor, 256 MB of RAM, 3.7″ 480 x 800 display, 3.2-megapixel camera, Windows Phone Tango and will ship in four colors: magenta, cyan, white and black.

Nokia is really pushing the 610 as a “youth oriented” device. And we for one hope they succeed. Nokia has been out of the smartphone race to most young adults for several years now, so getting back into the game is very important for Nokia’s long-term future. On top of that, Microsoft could also heavily benefit from a successful Nokia product range. Seeing as how the myriad Windows Phone 7 devices already released by the likes of Samsung, HTC and others have left us rather unimpressed in terms of hardware design, Nokia’s attention to detail and gorgeous hardware have a chance to really steal the spotlight and get Microsoft back on top in the mobile world.

Nokia’s plan of regaining market leading dominance starts here with the Lumia 610.
