September 9th iPod Event Wrap Up.

So the iPod event many have been waiting months for has finally wrapped up. Many goods, digital and physical were revealed. To many Apple fans alike, probably the best announcement came from Steve’s mouth himself! That’s right, Mr. Jobs is back in the public limelight, though, he did tag team with his good friend Phil Schiller as well as several others. Enough small talk. There was plenty to see and hear. iPhone/iPod Touch OS 3.1:

  • available now and free! Jailbreakers hold off for now — everyone else dive in!


iTunes 9:

  • App organization, more control of playlist syncing, social networking integration, redesigned iTMS, introduction of LP’s, improved Genius functions, extra video features.


iPod Touch 3rd Gen:

  • 8GB/32GB/64GB $199/$299/$399
  • Open GL support


iPod Classic:

  • $249 for 160GB — bargain deal!


iPod Shuffle:

  • More Shuffle compatible headphones to integrate controls into headphone cord
  • new colors: pink, green, blue, silver and black
  • $59/2GB and $79/4GB
  • special stainless steel edition



iPod Nano:

  • Nano’s now come with integrated camera on back of device — speaker allows video playback
  • sync to computer and send to YouTube
  • FM radio Support
  • Pedometer
