Pissed That You Got The Shaft For Being Droid RAZR Early Adopter? This $110 Battery Conversion Kit Should Help.

We’re not going to sugar coat this. Motorola’s decision to spend a massive amount of marketing on the original Droid RAZR in hopes that millions of people would buy it and lock themselves into two-year contracts only to turn around and release the Droid RAZR MAXX (the phone they should have released the first time) a couple months later is a dick move. We weren’t that fond of Motorola before the drama, and we certainly aren’t fans now. Mini-rant aside, a few weeks ago it was made known that the RAZR MAXX’s extended battery and larger back cover would fit on the original “skinny” RAZR with very minor modification. The only problem was that finding the hallowed 3,300 mAh battery and larger battery door was nothing short of a chore.

Not anymore. Cellphone Repair Shop has this nifty “conversion kit” available for pre-order. If you’re wondering what’s so special about it, stop. There isn’t. It’s the same bigger battery and battery door from the MAXX. (There’s also battery tape and a replacement SIM/SD card door.) That said, if you don’t have the necessary gadget-sized tools for the job, Cellphone Repair Shop has such gear too. Question is, how bad do you really want to flog that dual-core LTE RAZR of yours? Chances are if you’re like us, you’ve already set aside the needed funds.

Like we said above, the RAZR -> RAZR MAXX conversion pack is currently pre-roder only, and scheduled to ship on or before April 30th, 2012.
