Sony Announces Xperia GX and SX Android Phones.

Today at CTIA Sony dropped their two latest bombshells, the Xperia GX
and Xperia SX smartphones. These (initially) Japan-only devices
certainly look impressive on paper. The GX is the higher end of the
two, featuring a 4.6″ 720p display, 13-megapixel camera, 16 GB of
internal storage, and a 1.5 GHz dual-core processor. The OS of choice
is Android 4.0 ICS (with Sony’s in-house skin).

The XS is, according to Sony, the “world’s lightest LTE capable
headset” with a weight just shy of 100g. Specs for this beaut include
a 3.7″ display and similar 1.5 GHz dual-core processor as well as an
8-megapixel shooter ’round back. Highlighting the Japanese focus, Sony
has also equipped both devices with mobile TV capabilities — a
feature/service that has so far failed to take on mass public adoption
in non-Asian markets. Color choices will be black and white when the
Android 4.0 ICS powered devices launch later this summer.

Anyone feeling a bit jealous of our Japanese friends at the moment?
