Thank you god: Apple store coming to my desolate town, pitiful mall.

I have somewhat of a love/hate relationship with Apple. On one hand, they make some pretty awesome products. On the other, some of their policies and how they treat customers really irks me. At the end of the day however, I end up giving them money. I like shiny gadgets. Therefore, I buy shiny gadgets.

For a large majority of readers out there, simply venturing into town or to your town’s local mall will find you in close proximity to one of those almost magical Apple stores. Seeing as how I don’t have one anywhere close to where I live (closest is an hour and a half away in Chicago), when I do come face to face with one, I often wonder aimlessly for a solid 30-40 minutes, awestruck — nevermind the fact that I could tell you just about anything you wanted to know about most of the stock they carry.

So it is with great jubilation and child-like excitement that I announce the coming of a brand new Apple Store to University Park Mall in Mishawaka, Indiana. ->  It hasn’t been officially announced yet. But thanks to murmors I’ve heard floating around as well as confirmation from Apple Store finder, ifoAppleStore.com, I now know for certain that my aimless wondering will soon increase.

To be completely honest, I’ve known of the possibility of such a store coming to town for many months, though never had any real evidence. Granted, ifoAppleStore.com could be wrong. Furthermore, neither Apple or the mall has announced the store either, so things could change for the worse. But given that construction is ongoing on a new storefront obscured by countless boards for some time along with the aforementioned rumors and mention on ifoapplestore.com means that at the very least, something extra special is at hand.

For now, there isn’t a release date or any information regarding store size. Though as you can tell by the image above, it’s a fairly large store. No, it’s not as large as the new 6,000+ sq. ft. Apple Store in St. Louis, Missouri with rumored WiFi lounge. But it’ll do.

For a small town such as Mishawaka, it is kind of odd that Apple would pick such a place to set up shop. Perhaps the surrounding posse of colleges (at least 8 off the top of my head) has something to do with it. College kids can be pretty loose with money, especially when shiny gadgets are concerned. All I know is I’m ready and waiting…loose wallet in hand and walking shoes laced up. Soon it’ll be time to wander…

Wow, you two were busy last night.

  • Dirk

Haha that was a goodie Jordan. And besides with the amount of time Mike will spend there (and im sure tell the “Geniuses” what’s what) and blow money, he will be the king there ( in more ways then one)

Hahaha. he told me he was going to rape this site with ads just to support his apple*fetish and blow money on iCrap as he sees fit. oh well, support the UP Mall, since you spend all your time there anyways, working with animals and gifts and what not. lolz

You hear that Mike? You done got called out as a bag of douche. Your response? ;)

    • Jordan

I was under the impression he wasn’t hired? Mikey, as he well knows, is more than a bag of douche in my eyes *twinkle twinkle*

      • Mike

Just wait until we can face time together when my wife and kids aren’t home, it’ll be more like crotchtime (patent pending)

Ugh… I’m sorry, but this is ridiculous. I understand, with interviewing with Apple on multiple occasions in this area, I know why…But still, the UP Mall? They flourished in Best Buy here, to put it in this Mall is ridiculous. I honestly think, knowing their numbers for this area, speaking to those numbers in the process of interviewing, this area deserves more than what they are getting. But, I digress… This store will be filled with 100% douche bags.

And NO, I never once even applied for this position at this store( or any apple retail store for that matter). That isn’t why I think it is stupid, has nothing to do with applying at this retail outlet and not getting it to shit talk. !!!!!
