Verizon Expanding LTE In North Central Indiana, Adding More New Cities Tomorrow, March 15th

Good news Indiana residents: Your mobile data experience on LTE is about to get a lot better. Specifically, residents of Cromwell, Howe, Kimmel, LaGrange, Lake Wawasee, Leesburg, Ligonier, Shipshewana, Syracuse, Topeka, Warsaw & Winona Lake will be able to make use of Verizon’s fantastic LTE network beginning tomorrow, March 15th, as the carrier surpasses 200 LTE markets in the U.S. with the aforementioned cities as well as those listed below.

In our testing (since we live in northern Indiana) we’ve seen download speeds averaging 20-30 Mbps down when within a few miles of a tower and still a respectable 2-5 Mbps down further out. As more LTE towers go live in Indiana, and the rest of the country, our obsession and love for all things data will only increase.

Indiana residents: If you live in any of the aforementioned cities above, give us a shout out as to how your new LTE experiences fares.

Nationwide Expansions & New Markets

On top of the Indiana expansions and new markets, further expansions will go live in:

  • Washington, D.C.; Baltimore, Md.; Columbus, Miss.; Northern N.J.; Wilmington, N.C.; Duncan, Okla.; Allentown/Bethlehem, Harrisburg, Philadelphia and Scranton/Wilkes Barre, Pa.; Hilton Head, S.C.; Cleveland, Tenn.; Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas & Kenosha, Madison and Milwaukee, Wis.

Finally, VZW is also bringing all-new LTE service to:

    • Dothan and Enterprise, Ala.; Naples, Fla.; Greenville, N.C.; Altus and Durant, Okla.; and Longview/Marshall, Texas.

In short: Tomorrow is a huge day for VZW. Let’s just hope their LTE network can do a bit better at standing up to the growing onslaught. Their reliability over the last few months has taken a hit after several major outages and many more smaller/regional hiccups along the way.
