Verizon Publishes List Of The Have And Have Nots – Ice Cream Sandwich Update List.

The ever present worry as to whether or not your seemingly high-end and relevant Android device is going to receive Google’s latest and greatest update is something you as an Android user have to deal with. The worst part is the “mystery” and simply not knowing. We’ve seen several higher-spec’d devices slip through the cracks a time (or ten) before.

But today, for Verizon customers at least, the mystery has been taken away as the carrier has posted an official Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update list.

The List

  • HTC: HTC ThunderBolt, DROID Incredible 2 by HTC, HTC Rhyme, HTC Rezound
  • Motorola: Motorola XOOM, DROID BIONIC, DROID RAZR, DROID RAZR MAXX DROID 4, DROID XYBOARD 8.2, DROID XYBOARD 10.1
  • Samsung: Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1, Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7
  • LG: Spectrum

So there’s the list (with ridiculously high amount of “TM” stamps methodically removed).

Sad you didn’t make the cut? Not to worry. Verizon does say the list is subject to change (potentially adding more devices to the list). But we’re positive those who actually care about receiving Android updates know the best way to keep your device updated with the latest firmware — root.

Unfortunately, Verizon neglected to mention when the updates above might actually roll out. In short: stay tuned…
