Windows 7 is now..*Drumroll Please*..Windows 7

Microsoft’s marketing team gets big kudos for their latest and greatest show of creativity…Windows 7. It seems they are ditching the old naming scheme and instead focusing on a more “simple and straight forward” approach. Whatever floats your boat Steve!
At first to some it looks as a good decision for Microsoft to step back from the technological disaster that is Vista and simplify things a little. Microsoft’s own Mike Nash reasoned that they picked the name because it was the 7th release of Windows. However the name Windows 7 doesn’t quite add up because Windows 7 isn’t the 7th release. The kernel for Windows 7 is actually 6.1. So what gives? Who knows. Only time will tell.
