World’s First Mass Produced Bendable E-Ink Display Built By LG, Coming In April.

Fans of sci-fi and futuristic movies do doubt have a soft spot in the hearts for the high-tech display technology seen in their favorite sci-fi movies and shows. Wouldn’t it be great to have some of those same awesome gadgets in real life? This April, LG is pushing us one step closer to “the future” with their new plastic-based e-ink display. The display eschews the traditional glass substrate of displays of this nature and instead uses glass, making it lighter and 1/3 thinner than the glass counterpart. The best and most geektastic quality, of course, is that the display can be bent up to 40 degrees from the center of the screen. At roughly 7″, the LG’s new e-ink’s 1024 x 768 resolution should be more than enough to provide crisp on-screen text and images.

The stuff (future) dreams are made of, no?
