ZTE Aims For Entry Level Windows Phone Users With the ZTE Orbit Smartphone.

Now content with only stealing the higher end market with their Era quad-core smartphone, ZTE is looking to capture the lower/entry level market, too. At MWC 2012 ZTE announced their new Windows Phone 7 powered “Orbit” smartphone. Going along with the “entry level” moniker is single-core 1 GHz processor (Qualcomm), 4″ 480 x 800 display, 512 MB of RAM, 5-megapixel camera, HSPA+ (7.2 Mbps), FM radio, NFC, and DLNA support. Globaly availability, according to ZTE, is “2nd quarter this year”.

Think the Orbit is good enough over other last generation Windows Phone devices to steal any market share? We’re thinking ZTE is going to have to try a little harder, at least in the Windows Phone world, if they hope to gain any tangible numbers.
